Nathan Franson: Why I Left the Mormon Church
This class will focus on the Canonicity of the Book of Mormon. Nathan Franson grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah where he spent his first 20 years in the Mormon Church before studying his way out of it. He was baptized into the LDS Church when he was eight years old. He served as a deacon at the age of twelve. As a teenager, he participated in the ritual of being baptized for the dead. Since then he has taught and written much about the religion and teaches a six-part seminar titled “Is Mormonism From God”? He has also written numerous articles along with a tract titled “Ten Questions to Ask a Mormon.” His latest project is an informational CD titled Mormonism Exposed. He currently preaches for the church of Christ in Kissimmee, FL and lives in Orlando with his wife Katy and son Micah. This class is an annual series with different material that does not require the previous year's attendance.
